15-year-old shot in the back and killed by former cop who didn’t want him dating his daughter

Last week in Mississippi, a 15-year-old teenager was fatally shot as he was trying to leave the house of the girl he was dating, Fox 13 reported.

Cornelius McGee Jr. was shot by the girl’s father, a former Mississippi police officer who allegedly warned the boy not to come to his home. The teen was reportedly shot in the back as he climbed a fence trying to get away from the father.

“He ain’t got nothing. Why would you shoot him in his back? With his back turned and him running from you. He’s already out your house. Why shoot him?” McGee’s mother Jacqueline Rash told Fox 13.

Clarkdale Police Department has confirmed that the father is a former cop but did not name from which division, nor did they release his identity.

USA Today previously reported that the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is “actively gathering information” on the shooting.

“At this time, it is not considered to be an officer-involved shooting,” wrote the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
