Author and journalist Robert Evans was running errands in South East Portland this Wednesday when he came across an accident scene where a drunk driver crashed his truck into a pole. According to witnesses, the driver spouted off an amusing theory as to who was responsible for the wreck.
“The short story is that a drunk man attempted to buy beer from a Plaid Pantry. He was turned down and peeled hard out of the parking lot, where he struck the guide wire on that pole,” Evans tweeted.
A witness told Evans that the man accused onlookers of causing the crash — calling them “antifa.”
At present, the Plaid Pantry is temporarily closed while the firefighters attempt to figure out how to get he truck down. pic.twitter.com/8FSBU5Xko8
