As the feud between President Trump and his former die-hard supporter Ann Coulter heats up, the conservative bomb thrower hit back after Trump took aim at her in a fiery tweet posted over the weekend.
Speaking at an event for the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches this Monday, Coulter wondered why Trump doesn’t just simply ignore her.
“He doesn’t mind ignoring the rest of his base,” she quipped.
During the 2016 campaign, Coulter was one of Trump most loyal supporters, even authoring a book titled In Trump We Trust. But her admiration has since soured due to what she sees as his waffling over building his long-promised border wall and other promises he made regarding immigration policy.
“It’s frustrating,” Coulter said on Monday according to the Palm Beach Post. “I can’t talk to Trump detractors because, as the subtitle to my last book indicated, they’re insane. I can’t talk to the Trump flatterers because they think as soon as it comes out of his mouth, it has happened.”
She added that Trump is an “excellent talker,” but when it comes to taking action, “he falls down on the job.”
In a tweet this Saturday, Trump attacked Coulter, calling her “wacky” and declaring that he’s actually “winning on the Border.”
Wacky Nut Job @AnnCoulter, who still hasn’t figured out that, despite all odds and an entire Democrat Party of Far Left Radicals against me (not to mention certain Republicans who are sadly unwilling to fight), I am winning on the Border. Major sections of Wall are being built…

….and renovated, with MUCH MORE to follow shortly. Tens of thousands of illegals are being apprehended (captured) at the Border and NOT allowed into our Country. With another President, millions would be pouring in. I am stopping an invasion as the Wall gets built. #MAGA

Later in her talk, Coulter said that while Trump might be right in his tirades against the media, he’s not who his base thinks he is.
“Trump may be a shallow, narcissistic conman, but that doesn’t mean the media are not the enemy of the people. Both things can be true,” Coulter said, adding that Trump’s presidency could be the “total destruction of the lying media.”
Leave it to Coulter to be wrong, even while she’s saying something right.
