Thanks to a report from POLITICO that alleges White House senior adviser Jared Kushner uses his personal email account and the messaging platform WhatsApp for official government business, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Hillary Clinton took a moment to bathe in the irony.
In a tweet this Thursday, AOC created her own version of the slogan “but her emails” that emerged from the 2016 campaign as a response to the incessant Trump talking point regarding Clinton’s alleged use of a private email server during her time as Secretary of State.
While sharing a CNN segment on the story, AOC quipped, “But his WhatsApp.”

The tweet, being liked and retweeted over 100,000 times, caught the attention of Clinton, who said she can relate.
“Tell me about it,” Clinton wrote, responding to AOC.

According to information obtained by the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Kushner “continues to use” the messaging app for official White House business.
The Committee stumbled on the information as they demanded new documents from Kushner and other White House officials. Ivanka Trump is among the officials the Committee is seeking documents from.
“These communications raise questions about whether these officials complied with the Presidential Records Act and whether the White House identified this personal email use during its internal review and took steps to address it,” Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings wrote in a statement.
