This Tuesday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) posted a photo on Twitter of himself dining with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort, saying that he had a “great dinner tonight” with the former president.
“He’s in great spirits!” Cruz wrote. “We spent the evening talking about working together to re-take the House & Senate in 2022.”
Seeing an opportunity for comedy, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) retweeted the photo and took a jab at the pair over what she sees is their shared role in sparking the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan 6.

Cruz was one of eight Republican Senators who voted against certifying the results of the 2020 election based on false claims of mass voter fraud.
