Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took a shot at former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway after she refused to resign the from board of visitors for the US Air Force Academy on Wednesday.
This Wednesday, the White House Office of Presidential Personnel informed former members of the Trump administration that they would have to relinquish their positions on advisory and visitor’s boards for the US Military Academy, the US Naval Academy, and the US Air Force Academy. Unsurprisingly, anyone who refused to resign would be fired.
Conway refused to step down and posted a message on Twitter addressing President Joe Biden.
“I’m not resigning, but you should,” Conway signed off in her letter.
Ocasio-Cortez retweeted the letter and said that Conway’s response was “predictable.”
“Clinging onto vestiges of power against the people’s will is kind of your /Trump’s / the GOP’s thing. When you’re fired, don’t let the fascist victim complex hit you on the way out,” she wrote with an waving hand emoji.
A predictable, if not unfortunate, outcome. Clinging onto vestiges of power against the people’s will is kind of your /Trump’s / the GOP’s thing.
When you’re fired, don’t let the fascist victim complex hit you on the way out. 👋🏽 https://t.co/YmsoFmvaPv
