AOC on Marjorie Taylor Greene: ‘This is a woman who clearly needs help’

Speaking to reporters this Friday, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez addressed a newly-surfaced video from 2019 showing Marjorie Taylor Greene harassing her staff, saying that the Georgia GOP Rep. has a “fixation” on progressive members of Congress that her behavior has “raised concerns” among lawmakers.

“This is a woman that’s deeply unwell and clearly needs help,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And her kind of fixation has lasted for several years now” and  has “raised concerns for other members.

“I think that this is an assessment that needs to be made by the proper professional,” she added.

CNN unearthed the 2019 video showing Greene, then a private citizen, accompanied by a man who would later take part in the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, shouting through the letterbox on the door of Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional office. The video originally appeared on Greene’s Facebook page but has since been deleted.

“You need to stop being a baby and stop locking your door and come out and face the American citizens that you serve,” Greene says in the video. “If you want to be a big girl, you need to get rid of your diaper and come out and be able to talk to the American citizens. Instead of having to use a flap, a little flap. Sad.”

The video also shows Greene and others vandalizing Ocasio-Cortez’s guestbook with pro-Trump messages and insults.
