AOC to Tucker Carlson: You’re a ‘talking inferiority complex’

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took a retaliatory shot at Tucker Carlson after the Fox News host mocked comments she made regarding her experience on Jan. 6 as a mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol.

On his show this Thursday, Carlson said Ocasio-Cortez should “get a therapist” after she said that she feared she’d be raped during the attack.

In a post this Friday, Ocasio-Cortez retweeted a clip of Carlson’s segment, saying she “couldn’t care less about what this talking inferiority complex has to say…”

“…but I do feel for the women and survivors in his life who now see they wouldn’t be believed or safe with him,” she wrote.

“Many survivors of assault don’t tell family, friends, etc bc of how they see others treated,” she added.

Ocasio-Cortez has previously said she is survivor of sexual assault. On Monday, she told CNN’s Dana Bash that “one of the reasons why that impact was so double that day is because of the misogyny and the racism that is so deeply rooted and animated the attack on the Capitol.”

“White supremacy and patriarchy are very linked in a lot of ways,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “There’s a lot of sexualizing of that violence, and I didn’t think that I was just going to be killed. I thought other things were going to happen to me as well.”

Bash asked if she meant she thought she might be raped, to which Ocasio-Cortez replied: “Yeah, I thought I was.”
