Appearing on Fox News, Rick Perry Doubles Down on Wendy Davis Remarks (VIDEO)

Appearing on Fox News Sunday this morning, Texas Governor Rick Perry doubled down on his controversial remarks regarding state Senator Wendy Davis’ filibuster of her state’s infamous abortion bill, where he said she “hasn’t learned” from her own example as a teenage mother that “every life must be given a chance.”

Fox News Sunday host John Roberts asked Perry if he regretted his comments, considering that since he may run for president in 2016, his popularity among women voters may suffer.

“Actually, those comments were meant to be a compliment to her for what she had accomplished in her life, and you think about where she came from, what she’s accomplished,” Perry replied. “And as a matter of fact, I would think that she’s very proud of that as well. My point was that saving a life and letting that life come to its fulfillment and all the good things that happened. You never know when — who’s going to be considered to be an extraordinary individual who’s going to make that real impact in life.”

I certainly hope Rick Perry never gets an urge to “compliment” me! I’d rather not receive a compliment at all than to get a backhanded “compliment”!

What Wendy did was to make a CHOICE and that same right is what she is fighting to retain for other women. I am so sick of these self righteous jerks telling me that I am pro abortion when what I actually favor is the right of the woman to make her own decision. No one is PRO abortion just as very few of the anti abortion people are truly pro LIFE. Most of those same people have no problem at all with the death penalty, nor do they want to provide any kind of public assistance for those children once they are actually born.

    Well said, Mr. Cull.

Love the fetus, but hate the child. Tea Party logic to be sure.

It would be so nice if they loved the “child” as much as they claim to love the “fetus” That baby is one its own as soon as it is born, and so is mom.
