Arrest warrant sought for Kyle Rittenhouse after he disappears on prosecutors

Wisconsin prosecutors this Wednesday announced that they are seeking an arrest warrant for Kyle Rittenhouse because he violated the conditions of his bond by failing to update his address, KARE11 reports.

Rittenhouse, now 18, is accused of killing two people during unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year.

Prosecutors filed the motion after they were unable to deliver a hearing notice for Rittenhouse at the address he listed as his home when he was released on bond, saying Rittenhouse failed to notify the court of a change of address or telephone number within 48 hours as required.

They asked the judge to increase Rittenhouse’s bail by $200,000 and issue a warrant for his arrest since they are unaware of his whereabouts.

When Kenosha detectives went to the apartment Rittenhouse listed as his address, a man said he had rented the apartment since Dec. 15 and Rittenhouse no longer lived there.

If convicted, Rittenhouse faces up to life in prison.
