In a tweet this Thursday, Senator Bernie Sanders warned that if president-elect Donald Trump turned his hateful brand of rhetoric into action against minority groups, there would be hell to pay.
“If Donald Trump takes people’s anger and turns it against Muslims, Hispanics, African Americans and women, we will be his worst nightmare,” the Vermont senator tweeted.

This Wednesday, Sanders released a statement suggesting that he’d be willing to work with Trump on certain issues.
“To the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him,” Sanders’s statement read.
“To the degree that he pursues racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-environment policies, we will vigorously oppose him.”
After losing the Democratic presidential primary, Sanders endorsed his opponent Hillary Clinton and even campaigned for her.
