Bill Barr isn’t intimidated by Trump’s attacks: ‘He’s just a deposed king ranting’

During a meeting this Friday, President Trump raised the prospect of firing Attorney General Bill Barr, according to a person familiar with the situation speaking to CNN. Trump is reportedly furious that Barr had kept the federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes under wraps before the 2020 election.

This Saturday, Trump retweeted a tweet saying that Barr should be fired immediately, adding that the AG is a “big disappointment!”

According to a source speaking to CNN who’s familiar with the relationship between the two men, Barr plans to stay on until the end of Trump’s tenure unless he thinks he’s going to be fired. But according to the source, “Barr cannot be intimidated by Trump.”

“This is the real story. None of this matters — it’s the deposed king ranting. Irrelevant to the course of justice and to Trump’s election loss,” the source said.

Things began to go sour between Barr and Trump when Barr refused to regurgitate Trump’s accusations of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election earlier this month.
