Bill Barr: Trump ‘orchestrated a mob to pressure Congress’ and ‘betrayed his office’

In a statement to the Associated Press, former Attorney General William Barr said that President Trump’s rhetoric during the storming of the U.S. Capitol by a violent mob of Trump supporters was a “betrayal of his office and supporters.”

He added that “orchestrating a mob to pressure Congress is inexcusable.”

Barr resigned last month in the midst of tension over Trump’s claims of election fraud and his accusations of corruption within the Biden family.

As the Associated Press points out, Barr was one of Trump’s most loyal defenders in the Cabinet.
