Bill Maher: Only sign that Florida shooter was ‘mentally disturbed’ was his red MAGA hat

In his Real Time monologue this Friday, host Bill Maher started off the segment talking about the most recent news of the day, from Robert Mueller’s indictments of 13 Russian nationals for meddling in the 2016 election to the Stormy Daniels fallout. Towards the end of the monologue, Maher addressed the story that’s at the forefront of most people’s minds: the mass shooting at a Florida high school this Wednesday that left 17 people dead.

Discussing the payout to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet about an alleged affair with President Trump, Maher quipped sarcastically, “Thank you, Republicans, for once again restoring honor and dignity to the Oval Office.”

“And just in time for President’s Day,” Maher added. “Yes, it’s nice we still live in a country where any child can grow up to be the next Lincoln — and by that I mean get killed with a gun.”

“I know, but we have to hear it,” he said, responding to a mixed reaction from the audience.

“I mean, after that horrible shooting in Florida, Trump never mentioned guns,” Maher continued. “He pivoted right to the NRA talking point, he said, ‘So many signs that the Florida shooter was mentally disturbed.’ Yes, we saw — he was wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat.”
