Burger King trolls Trump’s spelling skills: ‘We’re all out of hamberders’

In the wake of a tweet fired off by President Trump that contained some unusual spelling practices, namely the mentioning of “hamberders.”

In a tweet that has since been deleted, Trump bragged about the abundance of fast food he served Clemson University’s championship football team during their visit at the White House on Monday.

“Great being with the National Champion Clemson Tigers last night at the White House. Because of the Shutdown I served them massive amounts of Fast Food (I paid), over 1000 hamberders etc,” Trump said in the now-deleted tweet.

“Within one hour, it was all gone. Great guys and big eaters!” he added.

From its verified account on Tuesday morning, Burger King tweeted that it only serves hamburgers.

“Due to a large order placed yesterday, we’re all out of hamberders,” the fast food chain tweeted. “Just serving hamburgers today.”

Burger King wasn’t the only food Trump served up for the team’s visit. Food from McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Dominoes Pizza was also present.

According to a statement released by the White House later that Monday, Trump wanted to to host a “fun event” for the team, but “because the Democrats refuse to negotiate on border security, much of the residence staff at the White House is furloughed.”

“So the President is personally paying for the event to be catered with some of everyone’s favorite fast foods,” the statement read.

Some on social media wondered if Trump opted for fast food since the budget had to come out of his own pocket.
