A Michigan man pleaded guilty this Thursday to assaulting police officers during the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, The Hill reports.
Logan James Barnhart, 41, was part of a mob of rioters who fought with police at the Archway leading into the Capitol from the Lower West Terrace, court records say. He and other rioters dragged an officer down the steps into the crowd, who beat the officer weapons that included a flag pole and a baton.
“As a result of this attack, the officer sustained physical injuries, including bruising and abrasions,” a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the District of Columbia said.
In another incident, Barnhart reportedly struck an officer with the base of a flagpole.
Barnhart is a bodybuilder and former model for romance novel covers. He was arrested and taken into custody in August of last year. He faces a statutory maximum of 20 years in prison.
