Catholic grade school mistakenly passes out flowers stuffed with thongs and lingerie to families for Mother’s Day

A Catholic school in Philadelphia had one hell of a mishap with a Mother’s Day flower sale when a family opened their gift to find the faux flowers stuffed with woman’s lingerie, Philly Voice reports.

The fake roses stuffed with red lingerie were sold at St. Anselm School which hosts students from kindergarten to 8th grade. One family shared the surprising discovery on social media, but they had a pretty good sense of humor about it.

In a statement, the school said the roses were mistakenly purchased under the impression that they were appropriate for students.

“Saint Anselm Parish School took immediate steps to remediate this issue when it became known inclusive of broad communication with school families,” Ken Gavin, spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, said Tuesday. “The situation represents an unfortunate mistake and we apologize deeply.”

“We sincerely regret any embarrassment and discomfort that was caused and wish all mothers in the community a Happy and Blessed Mother’s Day with hearts full of gratitude,” Gavin said.
