During an appearance on Fox Business this Friday, evangelical pastor and spiritual adviser to President Trump, Robert Jeffress, declared that Trump is finally making it okay to be a Christian in America again.
“I’ve never seen the president more upbeat or positive or focused than he was today,” Jeffress told host Lou Dobbs, referring to earlier meeting with Trump. “And look, this impeachment farce, it isn’t paralyzing the president. It is energizing him.”
According to Jeffress, the longer Democrats carry on their impeachment inquiry, “the larger [Trump’s] margin of reelection is going to be in 2020. The American people are with this president.”
“And I couldn’t agree with you more,” Dobbs said. The Fox host then showed a recent viral video featuring House Speaker Nancy Pelosi speaking about her Catholic faith while chastising a reporter for asking her if she “hates” Trump.
“You know, I find it interesting that she is so indignant about being accused of hatred saying that it goes against her Catholic faith,” Jeffress said. “Well, what about her belief in unrestricted abortion? That certainly goes against her faith, and she doesn’t apologize for that, she celebrates her belief in the murder of the unborn.”
Next, the two discussed Pope Francis’s recent comparison of Trump to the biblical King Herod, which according to Jeffress, is all backwards.
“Herod wanted to extinguish Christmas by getting rid of Christ before the first Christmas,” Jeffress said. “President Trump celebrates Christmas, has brought it back to the forefront of our country, and that means bringing Christ back as well.”
