Christian pastor: If atheists can’t see coronavirus but believe it’s real, why don’t they believe in God?

During a fiery sermon live-streamed on Facebook Sunday night, right-wing pastor and radio host E.W. Jackson had a few words for atheists, excoriating them for not believing in God because they can’t see him while believing in a virus that they also can’t see.

“Think about the irony of this,” he said. “Think about the irony of this. I’ve had people say things like this to me… Usually in comments, after I put out some live-stream event or something like that, here’s what they’ll say: ‘You know, you got fools who believe that some imaginary man in the sky, that they can’t see is gonna protect them, and yet, they’ll crawl off into a corner cringing over a virus that they can’t see.”

Jackson then paused dramatically.

“Now think about the irony of that.” he said. “You can’t see it! … They’re cringing in fear. … You tell them about God and (unintelligible) they don’t know that they need to be a lot more afraid of God than they are of this virus.”

He failed to note that coronavirus actually can be seen — under a microscope.
