Christian pastor: Trump’s attack on Iranian general was justified because ‘God is a man of war’

Pastor Frank Amedia is a former advisor to the Trump campaign and a founder of POTUS Shield, a “prophetic” network that he uses to promote conspiracy theories, which he did Monday by calling President Donald Trump’s opponents “evil,” Right Wing Watch reports.

Amedia claimed Trump’s impeachment inquiry is centered around a “spirit of witchcraft” and a “twisted conspiracy” at the hands of “demonic spirits.” Then he formed POTUS Shield (which he founded on the night Trump was elected) as a spiritual weapon.

“We are a weapon, a spiritual weapon of God that has been anointed and called for in a time such as this,” he said.

He cautioned viewers not to be surprised if another whistleblower pops up with more charges against Trump.

“Do not be shocked or surprised. This is the tactic of the enemy,” he warned, adding that there will be “putrid incriminations” and “vitriolic ranting.”

Then he castigated Trump’s “deep state” opponents and said he prayed they will be exposed and removed.

He also discussed the Trump administration’s targeted assassination of Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassim Soleimani.

“God is a man of war,” Amedia insisted, claiming that the “righteous blood” of soldiers killed at the behest of Soleimani had “cried out to God” and “the time came when God judged.” He called Iran a “villainous” and “evil” country that was fueled by the same “spirit of antichrist” that gave rise to Adolf Hitler and the Japanese government in World War II.

He claimed negotiating with Iran won’t work and that a treaty would be ineffective because it wouldn’t control the hatred that drives “the Islamist regime.”

He also said God has additional plans for Trump, including winning the 2020 election and electing more justices to the Supreme Court. He urged his followers to pray for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, “spiritual advisor” Paula White, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Quoting from the biblical Book of Psalms, he declared God would destroy Trump’s enemies.

“I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; neither did I turn back again until they were destroyed … You have subdued under me those that rose against me.”
