Christian youth pastor arrested on child sex abuse charges

An Illinois man who was a youth pastor at a Lutheran church in Quincy is facing multiple child sex abuse charges, KHQA reported.

In January, a parent contacted  the Quincy Police Department saying that Isaiah W. Mikkelson had possibly sexually abused their juvenile child. After an investigation was launched, multiple juveniles alleged they were abused at the church.

This Tuesday, Mikkelson was arrested on charges of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and Criminal Sexual Assault, involving several juvenile victims while Mikkelson held a position of trust, authority, or supervision over them, after police conducted a traffic stop.

When he appeared in court on Thursday, two additional charges of Child Pornography were filed and his bond was ultimately raised from $200,000 to $250,000.

He was ultimately released on a $25,000 and is due to appear in court on March 20.
