COVID-positive Republican governor recently photographed without a mask at Walmart

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt announced this Wednesday that he has tested positive for coronavirus. The same day, a photo emerged showing him out in public recently without a mask on.

KFOR is reporting that Stitt was recently seen at a Walmart in Oklahoma City without a mask, talking to other customers. A resident sent the photo to KFOR and said it was taken on Sunday, July 12. Stitt was tested on July 14.

Walmart announced Wednesday that stores will be requiring all shoppers to wear masks beginning on Monday, July 20.

The Republican governor has aggressively pushed for his state to reopen and has dismissed the recommendations of health experts.

Stitt said that he feels “little bit achy” but is otherwise fine, adding that he’ll be quarantining and working from home, and that he was “pretty shocked” to be the first governor to get the virus. He says his family has so far tested negative.
