‘Cowboys for Trump’ founder turns against Trump during speech at QAnon conference

Speaking over the weekend at what news outlets are describing as a “QAnon conference” in Las Vegas, Cowboys for Trump founder Couy Griffin criticized former President Donald Trump not doing enough to help people charged and jailed for partaking in the riot at the U.S. Capitol. He also slammed Trump for failing to deliver on his promise to have people like Hillary Clinton ‘locked up,’ RawStory’s Sarah Burris reports.

“We supported President Trump for his fight for justice as well,” said Griffin. “And for four years we cried, ‘Lock her up. Lock her up. Lock her up’ we know [Hillary Clinton’s] a criminal. What did the president tell us? ‘If I was in charge, you’d be in jail.'”

But Griffin went on to say that Trump didn’t deliver on his promise, despite the fact that he had four years to do so.

“Okay, Mr. President, you’ve been in charge of the law for four years,” he said. “At the end of your four year time, the only ones locked up were men like me, and others like me, that have stood by the president the strongest.”

Griffin is facing misdemeanor criminal charges related to the Capitol riot, where he was seen attempting to lead a crowd of rioters in prayer.
