Steve Martin once said that the secret to comedy is making people laugh “without making them puke.”
That’s an adage Martin has faithfully stuck to throughout his entire career – as a comedian, an actor, an author and even a master musician – the man slays us every time. Part of Martin’s brilliance is that there isn’t always a punch line to what he does. But when there is, it’s perfect.
During a performance at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles back in 1979, he demonstrated that perfectly.
Even cat lovers will appreciate this (you’ll see what I mean).
