Evangelical leader says impeaching Trump would anger ‘600 million Americans’ (U.S. population is 330 million)

During a live video posted to his Facebook page last Friday, pro-Trump foot soldier and evangelical activist Lance Wallnau railed against the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry against President Trump and claimed that if an impeachment were to happen, it would be going against the wishes of “600 million Americans.” But as Right Wing Watch points out, there are currently only about 330 million people in the U.S.

“Have you guys heard what this reprehensible character—I mean, the guy looks like he needs deliverance,” Wallnau said referring to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff. “We can be compassionate and say, ‘Nero’s flippin’ crazy’ while he’s killing Christians. This guy is a flippin’ nutjob.”

“I was dumbfounded when I heard it,” he continued. “He said it was an interpretation of the transcript—an interpretation. A precedent-setting interpretation from an intelligence committee leader in order to set up the president for impeachment to overturn the will of 600 million Americans.”

According to Wallnau, Trump’s infamous phone call with Ukraine’s president is another example of the “swampy, elite group” in D.C. trying to “take this man out.”

“This is the battle of Western civilization,” Wallnau said. “If Christians don’t wake up, they’re in for a rude awakening.”
