Event center drops Gaetz, Greene’s ‘America First’ tour: ‘We found out who the speakers were and immediately canceled’

An event center in California has abandoned plans to host an event for GOP Reps Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz, saying that the event was canceled after it was discovered who the speakers were, the OC Register reports.

The general manager of the Pacific Hills Banquet & Event Center in Laguna Hills, California, said that the move to cancel the event came after the identities of the speakers was revealed.

“As soon as we found out who the speakers were we immediately canceled it,” Javad Mirtavoosi told the Register.

Mirtavoosi didn’t say if the cancelation was due to politics, but that they “just thought it would be best for our facility to cancel.”

“We just want to stay clear of that,” he added.

Gaetz and Greene marketed their tour as a way to mobilize “the 74 million Americans that voted for President Trump in the last election,” and also as a way to “highlight the destructive failings of the radical left and their puppet in the White House, Joe Biden.”
