Feds say they have Trump on tape talking about classified docs he swiped from White House

Federal prosecutors say they have an audio recording of Donald Trump admitting he held on to a classified document about a potential attack on Iran from his time as president, which undercuts his claim that he declassified everything he took from the White House after his presidency, CNN exclusively reported.

The recording indicates that Trump knew what he was doing when he took classified information from the White House. In the recording, Trump allegedly suggests he’d like to share the information, but is aware that he’s limited in his ability to declassify information post-presidency.

CNN say that it has not listened to the recording and is only going by the descriptions of sources who have listened to it. “One source said the relevant portion on the Iran document is about two minutes long, and another source said the discussion is a small part of a much longer meeting,” CNN’s report stated.

The meeting where the alleged discussion took place has been a focus of Special Counsel Jack Smith and the Justice Department’s investigation into Trump.
