Florida cop fired for fleeing traffic stop after he was pulled over for speeding

A Florida police officer has been fired after he was caught on body cam footage fleeing a traffic stop after he was pulled over for speeding, WFTV reported.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Department says Officer Alexander Shaouni was clocked going 82 in a 45 mph zone in his police cruiser and had no lights or siren activated at the time.

When a deputy initiated a traffic stop, the department says Shaouni didn’t stop and passed cars to evade the deputy.

When he was being questioned, body cam footage showed him becoming increasingly irritated.

“What? I am going into work, my man,” he says to the deputy. “Why are you trying to pull me over as I’m going into work?”

When asked to present his driver’s license, Shaouni replies, “No,” and proceeds to get back in his cruiser and drives away.

Shaouni has been charged with resisting an officer, reckless driving and fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer. He turned himself in Friday to the Seminole County Jail and was released on $9,000 bond.
