In a case reminiscent of the Stanford Rapist Brock Turner, a 21-year-old former Indiana University student has accepted a plea deal in connection to two rape charges this Thursday.
John Enochs will serve 1-year of probation after he agreed to plead to battery “with moderate bodily injury” – a class A misdemeanor. His initial two rape charges were dismissed with court records showing he only spent one day in jail.
According to Fox59, the most recent incident occurred in April of last year.
According to court documents, the victim told police she’d been raped at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house, but didn’t know her alleged attacker. She said she repeatedly told him to stop, but he held her down. Eventually she was able to leave the room and get away.
Police said security video showed Enochs entering the room with the victim. She left after about 24 minutes. Health officials determined she suffered a laceration to her genitals.
Only in Indiana can there be solid evidence of raping 2 women and you spend 1 DAY in jail and get 1 year probation. #JohnEnochs

During that investigation, a victim from a case that occurred in 2013 agreed to help investigators and Enoch was arrested based on DNA and witness evidence.
It’s not yet clear what led to the plea deal.
