Former GOP Senate nominee: ‘Jesus loves us — that’s why I believe the earth is flat’

Failed Delaware GOP Senate candidate and QAnon adherent Lauren Witzke has quite a track record of voicing her questionable beliefs. Among her greatest hits are:

  • Her claim that the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, was actually a false flag perpetrated by the U.S. government to ensure Hispanics vote for Democrats.
  • Her agreement with Kanye West when he said Christians are God’s chosen people, not the Jews.
  • Her belief that allowing women to vote was a big mistake.

Now, she’s officially a flat earther.

On a recent podcast, she claimed the U.S. government is hiding the fact that the earth is flat.

“They want you just to think you’re just a globe floating around in space, nothing special about you — you were an accident,” she said. “When God intentionally put us here, he intentionally created us — he loves us and he made us just like him. So that is what I have to say about that, and that is why I lean towards more flat earth than I do round earth. Also, I haven’t seen it. I don’t trust anything I don’t see anymore.”
