Here are 17 beautiful examples of stair art from around the world

Here are some street artists and regular people who have decorated something that most of us probably wouldn’t think of – public outdoor steps.

Street art has come a long way. Not only is it defined by the vast, undulating and cryptic murals that are blasted up on subways, alley ways and freeway overpasses, but it’s manifesting itself within a broad framework that’s not always associated with the street/criminal element – finding new and creative ways to exploit public surfaces and cover them in beautiful art.

One of those creative public canvases are outdoor steps, and below you’ll find some incredible examples of this spontaneous kind of art from all around the world.
