When it comes to karma stories, hunters getting a little bit of comeuppance while in the act of killing majestic creatures trends quite popularly. Robert Meilhammer, 51, of Crapo, Md, is trending probably more than he’d like after Maryland Natural Resources Police published a report about a mishap he had with a dead goose.
This Thursday, Meilhammer was knocked unconscious when a goose fell about 90ft from the sky, striking him in the head causing head and face injuries.
According to the MNRP’s report, the goose was killed by a fellow hunter in his party who fired a blind shot at a flock that was flying overhead.
Two of his teeth were knocked out as well.
Meilhammer was airlifted to the University of Maryland Medical Center’s Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. His injuries were labeled as “severe.”

Adult Canada geese weigh about 12 to 14 pounds, and can have a wing span reaching nearly 6 feet. The “honkers,” as the bird are called for their noisy calls, are found in every contiguous U.S. state.
Meilhammer is listed as being in stable condition. The goose, not so much — but its legacy will be celebrated forever.
