Back in 1974, photographer Daniel Sorine came across two mimes in New York City’s Central Park. Something about them caught his eye, and he immediately began to snap pictures.

Years later, Sorine realized that one of the mimes was a then-unknown Robin Williams and the other was author Todd Oppenheimer.

He writes:

“What attracted me to Robin Williams and his fellow mime, Todd Oppenheimer, was an unusual amount of intensity, personality and physical fluidity. When I approached them with my Pentax Spotmatic they allowed me to invite them into my camera instead of me having to chase after them.”

In 1979, Robin Williams was not unknown, thus the basis of your question shows lack of knowledge.

I asked for a clarification on a picture! So what? I asked the question so I wouldn’t lack the knowledge! Where are you jerks suddenly coming from all these months later? Look, it still says 1979 in the URL.

I wonder if those suspenders the same ones as Robin Williams wore on Mork and Mindy. They look the same.

Thankfully he went from an obscure Central Park mime to the renowned comedian he was. We would have never been able to experience his genius. But maybe, if he didn’t become the world wide figure he became, he’d still be here, making us laugh and think, in Central Park.

Why was Chip attacked for politely asking a question? Would you attack him for asking the same question at a dinner table? Why is it okay to do so on social media?

Given that the article clearly states the photographer realised years later it was Robin Williams, that could have been in 1979. The pictures were taken in 1974, when Williams was unknown, as Suzy says. And either way, the URL might simply be a mistake, given that it couldn’t possibly have been created in either year.

It’s possible the phtographer knew who it was and kept it until they realized they’d make more money selling it now after he’s gone, but… That’s looking too negatively in it, it’s really cool to see his older life like that.

And some wonder why there is war in the world when cynthierobsinde reacts like that to something that should not spark any reaction what so ever. It was a question probably out of curiosity that made perfect sense.
I get curious if cynthierobsinde had a brief moment of overreaction to something we are not aware of, or if it was a normal reaction from cynthierobsinde that would not surprise his/her surrounding.
