In 2015, Keith Ellison went on ABC and warned of a Trump presidency and everyone laughed

In a surreal video from the summer of 2015, Minnesota Democratic Congressman Keith Ellison appeared on a discussion panel for ABC’s The Week and warned his co-panelists not to dismiss the possibility of a Trump presidency.

“All I want to say is that anybody from the Democratic side of the fence who thinks that — who’s terrified of the possibility of ‘President Trump,’ better vote, better get active, better get involved,” Ellison said.

“Because, this man has got some momentum,” he continued. “And we better be ready for the fact that he might be leading the Republican ticket.”

“I know you don’t believe that,” host George Stephanopoulos said while joining the other guests in laughter.

“We had Jesse Ventura in Minnesota win the governorship,” Ellison replied. “Nobody thought he was going to win. I’m telling you, stranger things have happened.”
