James Corden was accused of abusing restaurant staff years before Keith McNally called him out

Another celebrity who’s crafted a wholesome, down-to-earth image is getting accused of being a complete dead-souled sociopath when the cameras aren’t looking, and this time it’s late-night host James Corden.

In a post to Instagram this Monday, famed restaurateur Keith McNally announced that he had banned Corden from one of his restaurants, calling the British comedian “a tiny Cretin of a man” and “the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.”

McNally went on to provide two examples of Corden’s behavior, which were direct accounts from his restaurants’ managers.

“MANAGER’S REPORT # 1: ‘In June, James Corden was here on table 61. (Although this is diabolical, it happens Very occasionally in all restaurants.) After eating his main course, Corden showed the hair to Balthazar manager G. who was very apologetic. Corden was extremely nasty to G, and said: ‘Get us another round of drinks this second. And also take care of all of our drinks so far. This way I write any nasty reviews in yelp or anything like that.'”

“MANAGER’S REPORT # 2: ‘James Corden was at Balthazar with his wife on October 9th for brunch. He asked for a table outside. Brunch Maitre D’ Allie Wolters took the party to table 301. Mr. Corden’s wife ordered an egg yolk omelette with gruyere cheese and salad. A few minutes after they received the food, James called their server, M. K. and told her there was a little bit of egg white mixed with the egg yolk. M. K. informed the floor manager, G. The kitchen remade the dish but unfortunately sent it with home fries instead of salad. That’s when James Corden began yelling like crazy to the server: ‘You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!’ M.K. was very apologetic and brought G. over to the table. He returned the dish, and after that, everything was fine. He gave them promo Champagne glasses to smooth things out. G. said that Corden was pleasant to him but nasty to the server.’ M.K. was very shaken, but professional that she is, continued to finish her shift.'”

McNally’s post blew up and went viral, and now numerous news outlets are sharing the story, likely giving a serious bruise to Corden’s nice-guy image. But as the story circulated, people drew attention to an accusation against Corden that appeared on a Reddit AMA hosted by Corden three years ago.

“I am James Corden, alongside Ben Winston and five of our team members who help us make Carpool Karaoke for The Late Late Show. Ask me anything. Ask us anything!” the AMA’s opening post read. However, a redditor ruined the whole thing by chiming in with a story about Corden that detailed the same pathetic and entitled behavior that McNally described.

“Hey James. You won’t remember me but me and my friends sat at a table next to you and Harry Styles + some others in Manchurian Legends in London’s Chinatown about 6 years ago,” the redditor wrote. “We didn’t bother you but you were a massively entitled c**t who yelled and treated the waitstaff like sh** and when one of my party politely suggested you calm down, you got really aggressive and threatening (in a chubby way. Like a boozy panda.) So my question is this; why did Harry seem so cool, while you were such a massive throbbing bellend?”

Back in April, Corden announced that he’ll be stepping down as host of CBS’s The Late Late Show next year, saying that he’d been planning to leave for a long time. With his image likely going the way of Ellen’s, he’s probably wishing he planned his departure sooner.
