A simple mistake. A “brain fart.” Maybe he didn’t process the numbers. But good lord, what a cringe-worthy and unfortunate way to answer a question in front of millions of people on one of the most popular game shows in America.
A contestant on Jeopardy! this week raised a few eyebrows with his response to this answer:
Host Alex Trebek made sure to move on quickly after the poor fellow buzzed in, because sheesh, that’s just awkward.
