Citing an unnamed source, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump asked an unnamed foreign policy adviser why the US doesn’t use its cache of nuclear weapons, seemingly not understanding
“If we have them, why can’t we use them?” Trump reportedly asked.
Scarborough dropped the bombshell while interviewing former CIA Director Michael Hayden on Morning Joe Wednesday morning.
“I’ll have to be very careful here,” Scarborough said. “Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on international level went to advise Donald Trump, and three times he asked about the use of nuclear weapons.”
“Three times he asked, at one point, if we have them, why can’t we use them? That’s one of the reasons he just doesn’t have foreign policy experts around him. Three times, in an hour briefing, why can’t we use nuclear weapons.”
“Be careful America and be careful Republican leaders. Your party is blowing up,” co-host Mika Brzezinski added.
Among the important questions Scarborough’s revelation brings up, one is how long he’s been sitting on this information and why hasn’t he mentioned it sooner.
