During an event hosted by Washington D.C.’s Newseum, Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway was asked how she felt about a recent Washington Post article’s characterization of the age of Trump.
Journalist Michael Wolff asked Conway if she took any of the media’s critical reporting of her personally.
“How personally do I take what?” Conway asked.
“This coverage of you, ‘democracy dies in darkness,’ because I’m going to tell you that when they say ‘democracy dies in darkness,’ you’re the darkness.”
“I’m not the darkness,” Conway said to scattered applause from the audience. “It’s what I tell small children. Just because somebody says something doesn’t make it true.”
