Kanye West stops show, demands that wheelchair-bound man ‘stand up and dance’

He has great musical talent, but sometimes talent can rush to the head so fast, it can dislodge other critical thinking and self awareness skills.

He has great musical talent, but sometimes talent can rush to the head so fast, it can dislodge other critical thinking and self awareness skills.

According to the Daily Mail, during the Yeezus tour in Sydney on Friday night, Kanye West stopped the whole show when two handicapped fans wouldn’t get to their feet when he commanded.

A series of tweets confirming the incredibly bone-headed moment flooded the Internet as it went down. Speaking to the Daily Mail, an eyewitness said Kanye had refused to perform until the entire crowd were on their feet.

“I can’t do this song, I can’t do this show until everybody stand up,” Kanye reportedly said. “Unless you got a handicap pass and you get special parking and sh*t.”

“Imma see you if you ain’t standing up, believe me, I’m very good at that.”

When the musician saw a concertgoer waving a prosthetic limb to explain why they weren’t dancing, he acknowledged them, saying: ‘Okay, you fine!’

But when another fan remained seated, he stopped the song Good Life, saying, ‘This is the longest I’ve had to wait to do a song, it’s unbelievable,’ before sending bodyguard Pascal Duvier into the arena to check whether the person was in fact in a wheelchair- which they were.

‘The crowd was also yelling that he was in a wheelchair but he waited for Pascal’s confirmation,’ the witness said, while others said the crowd made ‘wheelchair motions’ to alert the singer to his mistake.

‘When he sent Pascal up there he said, ‘He is in a wheelchair? It’s fine!’ the witness reported.

If you happen to be handicapped and are planning to attend a Kanye West concert in the near future, you might want to register yourself with his bodyguard team beforehand.

I can never take an article about Kanye seriously when it starts with “He has great musical talent…“ Really?

Self absorbed idiot. The world doesn’t revolve around his beck and call. He lacks humility and common sense. Well at least he found his true soul mate. Kim is exactly like him. At least he took her off the market so no else gets stuck with either of them.

I’m not in a wheelchair and I’d be happy to stand up and walk strait out. If I am at a concert I will decide if I wish to stand up and dance. None of his business.

That huge crowd there making him rich, totally agree with you about his lack of talent.

I’m not a big fan, but I think people really need to start making a big deal out of faux pas made in the name of giving his fans a good show. I, for one, am sick of people trying to pretend these celebrities are only human. They’re not…they’re better than us, and we need to hold them to that standard.
