Lauren Boebert challenges Madison Cawthorn (who’s in a wheelchair) to a foot race for Kyle Rittenhouse internship

In the wake of Kyle Rittenhouse‘s acquittal on charges related to the shooting deaths of two people and the wounding of another during riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin last year, some conservative lawmakers are vying to have him as an intern.

First, it started with Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz, who said he was considering offering Rittenhouse a congressional internship. “You know what, Kyle Rittenhouse would probably make a good congressional intern. We may reach out to him and see if he’d be interested in helping the country in additional ways,” Gaetz said on Nov. 17.

Then, Arizona GOP Rep. Paul Gosar upped the ante.

“Justice was served for [Kyle Rittenhouse] and he is fully exonerated. As I said last year, obviously self-defense,” Gosar tweeted. “I will arm wrestle @mattgaetz to get dibs for Kyle as an intern.”

Next was North Carolina Republican Madison Cawthorn, who told Rittenhouse, “if you want an internship, reach out to me.”

But not to be undone, Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert threw her hat in the ring, and offered Cawthorn a challenge he might have a little trouble meeting.

“Now, I do have some colleagues on the Hill who have offered Kyle Rittenhouse an internship in their office, and he said he would arm-wrestle me for this Kyle Rittenhouse internship, but Madison Cawthorn has some pretty big guns, so I would like to challenge him to a sprint instead. Let’s make this fair.”

In case Boebert’s joke went over anyone’s head, Cawthorn is confined to a wheelchair.
