Lauren Boebert removes assault weapons from bookshelf before TV segment on Colorado shooting

People on Twitter noticed that something was a little different during a Newsmax segment featuring Colorado GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert this Wednesday when a previous display of assault weapons stacked on shelves behind her were nowhere to be found.

Newsmax interviewed Boebert regarding the renewed push for gun control laws in the wake of the shooting at a supermarket in Boulder, Colorado, that left 10 people dead. In a video that gained attention last month during a virtual House hearing, large firearms were prominently displayed behind her as she debated whether to ban lawmakers from bringing guns to committee meetings.

But this Wednesday when she appeared on the pro-Trump network under the shadow of yet another mass shooting in America, she apparently felt the display would be slightly awkward.

Her timing wasn’t lost on many of her critics on Twitter.
