Lou Dobbs: The ‘deep state’ sent Postal Service agents to arrest Steve Bannon

On his Fox Business show this Thursday, host Lou Dobbs expressed shock at former Trump campaign manager Steve Bannon’s arrest for defrauding donors in a fundraising scheme by special agents from the United States attorney’s office in Manhattan and federal postal inspectors.

According to Dobbs, the agents who arrested Bannon were working on behalf of the “deep state.”

“You may find this somewhat ironic — the contretemps between the postal service and the Trump administration, and somehow, the deep state launching agents of the U.S. Postal service to arrest Mr. Bannon,” Dobbs said in a video clip flagged by Media Matters.

“Now, we checked — if you’re surprised to find out the postal service has its own police force, there are 65 separate U.S. federal police departments and agencies and 27 offices of inspector general that also can make arrests and carry firearms,” he continued.

“What in the world kind of government have we created?” he asked.
