Louisiana cop allowed to resign right before he’s arrested for child pornography

A Louisiana man was arrested and charged with 506 counts of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13, KALB reported.

David Buck Lee Roberts, 27, had his home searched on June 5 and evidence was discovered that was consistent with distributing child pornography.

Roberts was taken into custody and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center on a $70,400 bond. According to KALB, he was allowed to tender his resignation from the Ball Police Department before his arrest.

In a statement, Ball Police Department Chief Marshall K. Deen said Roberts was off duty when he was informed of the charged pending against him.

“Upon being taken into custody, David Roberts tendered his resignation with the Ball Police Department before an arrest was made,” Deen said. “We are fully cooperating with RPSO and the Attorney General’s Officer in their ongoing investigation. Any type of criminal activity will not be tolerated by the Ball Police Department.”
