Marjorie Taylor Greene announces ‘articles of impeachment against Merrick Garland’ for ‘political persecution’ of Trump

Speaking to a gaggle of reporters and news cameras this Friday, Georgie GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene said that she is introducing articles of impeachment against Attorney General Merrick Garland for what she sees as his “political persecution” of former President Donald Trump.

Greene’s effort comes as more details emerge about the FBI investigation that led to a raid on Trump’s Palm Beach resort this Wednesday. According to reports, Trump allegedly mishandled highly classified information, some pertaining to nuclear weapons, have been recovered.

“What they’ve been doing to President Trump is political persecution,” Greene told reporters. “Merrick Garland has abused his position of power as the Attorney General to politically persecute Joe Biden’s enemies.”

According to Greene, the investigations into Trump are designed to prevent him from running for president again. She then flashed a handful of papers to the press, telling them she was on her way inside the U.S. Capitol.

“We cannot tolerate this in America where our great institutions are wielded and abused in such a way to defeat people’s political enemies,” she continued. “That’s not what this is for, and it should never exist.”
