Marjorie Taylor Greene attacks former allies Steven Bannon and Laura Loomer in leaked text to Matt Gaetz

A far-right pro-Trump contingent of influencers have turned on Marjorie Taylor Greene after her recent unlikely alliance with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.

Late last month, Politico reported that Greene helpedMcCarthy get the debt ceiling deal passed, which raised the debt ceiling until January 2025 to avoid a default by the U.S. While the deal faced some opposition from both parties’ hard-right and hard-left factions, Greene voted in favor of the deal, despite her own far-right Freedom Caucus” opposition to it.

Among those slamming Greene was former ally Steve Bannon, who wrote in a post to the social media platform Gettr, that Greene and Ohio GOP Rep. Jim Jordan should face primary challenges by candidates who represent “Real MAGA.”

Also taking a shot at Greene was far-right activist Laura Loomer, who posted a posted a Twitter poll asking her followers if she should “move one state over to Georgia and Primary professional conwoman [Greene] who exists for the sake of doing [House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s] bidding?”

According to a report from The Daily Beast, Greene sent a text to fellow GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz slamming Bannon and Loomer.

“…Bannon, who was senior counsel to Trump in the WH and responsible for the first debt ceiling increase bc Bannon is reckless and no where near fiscally responsible, is now telling everyone I should be primaried,” Greene’s text read, according to The Beast.

“Steve [Bannon], Loomer, and any other POS attacking me will not beat me,” she wrote. “Because of that people have been reaching out to me because they don’t like what Steve is doing to me… I’m at a place in my life where removing toxic and bad people out of my life makes me very happy.”

Greene also slammed Bannon for his involvement in the “We Build the Wall” scheme, where he’s accused of defrauding donors.

“I donated to We Build The Wall campaign. I remember how it said 100% of the donations went to building the wall,” she wrote. “I was one of the many naive people that believed in people and movements because I hoped so badly good things could happen.”

“Steve and I aren’t getting back together,” she wrote to Gaetz. “And if he keeps it up I’ll take the house and kids. I hope you send it to Steve. Because I’m done.”
