Marjorie Taylor Greene: Losing my committee assignments made me ‘one of the most effective members of Congress’

Earlier this year, the House of Representatives voted to strip Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments, due to her promotion of conspiracy theories and her comments where she suggested she supported violence against Democrats.

In a recent livestream video, Greene said that she expects to get her committee assignments back “after the next election,” but that her losing the assignments actually helped her become a more efficient lawmaker.

“The best news that I can give you is me not being on committees has been very impactful,” she said. “As a matter of fact, I’ve been one of the most effective members of Congress this year so far because I’ve spent a lot of my time on the House floor calling for recorded votes.”

She went on to say that not being on committees has given her a lot of time to ask for the recoded vote “and stopping bills from being passed by simply a voice vote.”
