Marjorie Taylor Greene says AOC agreed to debate on Green New Deal — ‘after I finish reading all 14 pages’

Last week, Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly challenged fellow congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) to a debate on the Green New Deal.

“I’d like to challenge you to a debate on the Green New Deal economic policy. Since you sponsored the Green New Deal and have a degree in Economics, I’m sure you are more than qualified,” Greene tweeted last Wednesday.

Fast forward to exactly a week later, and Greene is now claiming Ocasio-Cortez agreed to a debate — under certain conditions.

“I’m glad I ran into you today @AOC to plan our debate about the Green New Deal,” Greene tweeted this Wednesday. “After I finish reading all 14 pages, like we agreed, I’ll schedule time for our debate.”

Some of Greene’s critics on Twitter pointed out her “self-own,” where she inadvertently admitted that she hasn’t read the contents of the Green New Deal, a proposal that she’s been a consistent critic of.

“You’ve been sh***ing on this bill and HAVEN’T EVEN READ IT YET?!” wrote one Twitter user in response to Greene. “To be fair, it’s a whole 14 pages with no pictures.”

“The best part about this is you’ve been trashing something you haven’t even f***ing read, you absolute moron,” wrote another.

It remains to be seen if this debate will even happen, or if Greene is entirely telling the truth about the ‘agreement’ between her and Ocasio-Cortez. As of this writing, the Dem “Squad” member hasn’t mentioned it.
