Marjorie Taylor Greene visits Union soldier memorial but thinks it’s a Confederate memorial: ‘I will always defend our nation’s history!’

Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene tried to make a stand for Confederate soldiers and “our nation’s history” on Tuesday night, but all she did was reveal her lack of knowledge about the Civil War.

Greene posted images of herself to Truth Social visiting the Wilder Brigade Monument in Georgia and claimed that the memorial honors “Confederate soldiers.”

“Tonight, I stopped at the Wilder monument in Chickamauga, GA, which honors the Confederate soldiers of the Wilder Brigade. … I will always defend our nation’s history!”

But as many on Twitter and in the the media pointed out, the monument actually honors Union troops.

Greene later edited the post after she figured out she got it wrong.
