First Lady Melania Trump launched a new Twitter hashtag campaign early this week. But as expected, it quickly backfired to epic proportions.
Melania’s hashtag, #PowerOfTheFirstLady, attempts to drum up support for “women around the world,” and for herself apparently.
Applause to all women around the world who speak up, stand up and support other women! @emrata #PowerOfEveryWoman #PowerOfTheFirstLady
— Melania Trump (@FLOTUS) February 14, 2017
“Applause to all women around the world who speak up, stand up and support other women!” she wrote.
The tweet was a response to Gone Girl actress Emily Ratajkowski, who defended the First Lady earlier this week after a New York Times reporter published slut-shaming comments.
While “support other women!” is a good and important message, it didn’t go exactly as planned for the former model.
Costing us a fortune living in NYC. #PowerOfTheFirstLady
We know you don’t want to live w/ him but that is your
problem, not ours.— Kate Walter (@KateWalter12) February 16, 2017

#PowerOfTheFirstLady is optional. If Melania Trump wants to do nothing, however, let her do it in D.C. She’s costing us $1 mil a day in NY.

God, I feel sorry for Melania. Can’t even hire an intern to come up with an inspiring hashtag below 20 characters 🙁 #PowerOfTheFirstLady

#PowerOfTheFirstLady. Oh, the first lady that is suing for millions because of loss if income on a job she didn’t do? That one?

#PowerOfTheFirstLady: reminding lots of little girls to go to college and find their own success without a corrupt sugar daddy. @FLOTUS

#PowerOfTheFirstLady is an honor, not a privilege. Americans deserve a full time @FLOTUS who actually wants the job.

#TheResistance #TrumpLeaks#Powerofthefirstlady if she can’t trust him & doesn’t have to live w him, why should we?

@LibyaLiberty This #PowerOfTheFirstLady thing sounds a lot like what a teen girl in an anime cartoon would shout to transform into an adult.
