Mexican grandmother launches YouTube cooking show and it hits 800K subscribers in one month

If you’re someone who wants to be a successful YouTube creator, you might want to follow the rise of Doña Ángela from Michoacán, Mexico.

Her first video went up late last month, and as of now it’s garnered well over 500,000 views. The engagement on her videos is astronomical. Ángela has just 13 videos on her channel De mi Rancho a Tu Cocina (From my Ranch to Your Kitchen)and the lowest-engaged one has just over 400,000 views. There are currently five videos that have over 1 million views, and her metrics are climbing. In the time it took to write this article, her subscriber count climbed from around 814,000 subscribers to over 821,000. She’s going to have over 1 million subscribers in no time.

The secret to her success is pretty clear once you sit down to watch her — the simplicity, the culture, the fact that she’s every grandmother you’ve known. She’s your grandmother.
